Meet the Team: Stewart Zollinger, Senior Technical Developer

This week we spoke to Stewart to find out a little bit more about his life.

What’s your job title?

Senior Technical Developer

What's your career to date, in a couple of lines.

After a brief year as a music instructor, I started working as a Web/Graphic designer for a company in Musselburgh (and stayed there for 19 years). I then joined LEWIS a few months ago.

What do you most want to know the answer to?

I’m not sure there is such a thing anymore…Google pretty much covers it all, and as for any existential-type-questions, half the fun is just thinking about it!

Where do you feel most present?

On stage, with a guitar in my hands.

What’s your most treasured object?

One of my guitars – but don’t ask me to pick which one!

What inspires a sense of adventure within you?

Going to a city I’ve never been, where I don’t speak the language, and I don’t have a car.

Won any awards or industry accolades?

Nope (I’m guessing third place in a talent competition at Whitley Bay caravan park in 1981 doesn’t count).

Where did you gain a passion for your career?

It’s always been there – trying to understand how things work, seeing how I can change them, breaking things, and then fixing them.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

On becoming a parent – “Any sleep before midnight is worth twice as much as after”.

If you could do any job in the world what would it be?

Rockstar.

What was the last book you read or film you saw that changed the way you view the world?

Dunkirk.

What advertising campaign or advert from your childhood still sticks in your mind?

Fry’s Turkish Delight – full of eastern promise…
