I was about 3 years old when I discovered the TV on/off switch. It was the 70's so, of course, you had to pull the button to switch the telly on or push it to switch it off. My mum tells me I pulled the button off and tried to eat it. It might seem daft saying this wee button is my icon but without this button, TV is nothing - and I love TV! From a pull/push stubby stick-like button, to a twisty button, to a round or square touch push button, to a kind of sensor you simply wave at, this little button has come on leaps and bounds.
